Scrannel Missile Approach Warner Demonstrator

An experimental missile approach warner for ship protection will be demonstrated under a Capability and Technology Demonstrator (CTD) contract awarded by the Department of Defence.

ELINT System Enhancements

Avalon Systems have been awarded a contract extension to provide enhancements to a maritime ELINT system.  The enhancements include a detection capability for LPI Signals (Low Probability of Intercept Signals) as well as a situational awareness capability.

Delivery of EW Mission Support System for Tiger Helicopter

An EW support system or the Australian Army's Tiger helicopter fleet has been delivered.  The system has been installed in the Joint EW Operational Support Unit in Edinburgh, Australia.  It provides pre and post mission support for the EW sensors and countermeasures systems on the Tiger helicopter.  Field components of the system allow libraries to be re-programmed and flight logs to be analysed while on deployment .

Maintenance Management System for Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter Delivered

Avalon Systems and AA have successfully completed the development of the Maintenance Management System-Operational (MMS-OPs) to support the Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter under Project AIR 87. Acceptance testing of the sub-system was performed at the Avalon facility in April and a Design Certificate for the component issued in June signifying the entry into service with the Australian Army.

AIR 9000 Troop Lift Helicopter EW

Avalon systems has commenced work with EADS Defence Electronics Division in Ulm Germany on an EW Software Support Facility (SSF) for the MRH 90 Troop Left Helicopters (TLHs) being acquired under Project AIR 9000. The EW SSF will be based on the AIR 87 EWMSS facility which Avalon has developed as part of AIR 87, the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter program for the Australian Army

Avalon awarded Adonis ELINT System Integration contract

In February 2005 Avalon was awarded a contract for the Integration of the Adonis Electronic Warfare system for the Royal Australian Navy. Adonis is part of the DEF-224 Bunyip program and the award of this contract to Avalon marks a significant milestone in the development of the EW capability in Australian Industry.

A critical design review has been completed for the Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter's Maintenance Management System.

Contract Award for Tiger Maintenance Management System

Australian Aerospace has awarded Avalon Systems a contract to supply a maintenance management system. This system will be used by Australian Army flight line operators to monitor the health and usage of the Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter fleet.

SIRGEO UAV EW Payload

Avalon has commenced development of an experimental EW payload for a mini-UAV. The payload will be able to accurately geo-located radars using a single receiver geo-location technique. A joint trial will be conducted with DSTO using the Aerosonde UAV.

EW Modelling and Simulation

The number of Avalon staff working on EW modelling simulation under Project Arrangement 10 for DSTO has increased to 4. Under this task, engagement models for RF and IR threats and countermeasures are being developed for the Australian Defence Forces.
